Somebody Buy Ebates a Calculator!

You know, I wasn't going to post about this, but it really bugs me when rewards programs over-hype their promotions, and as much as I love Ebates (aff), I have to call 'em out on this:

Ebates has a link on their main page to click, "Fall in Love with Double Cash Back! Shop now". Clicking it takes you to a page featuring 12 Valentine's-themed merchants offering increased cashback. The only problem is that although the banner touts, "Double Cash Back," only ONE of the twelve merchants actually has their cashback rate doubled (Blue Nile, with 6% instead of 3%). The other ELEVEN are increased, yes, but NOT DOUBLED.

Love you guys, Ebates, but CompareRewards is a no-BS zone. Increasing a rate from 6% to 8% isn't even close to doubling it. What say we back down on the hype just a notch and call these "Cash Back Increases You'll Love" or something to that effect? That'd be a little less egregious of a claim.
