Interesting Article About "Charity" Rewards Programs

| | Comments (0)

There was an interesting article in yesterday's Salt Lake Tribute about "charity" rewards programs and whether or not members' earnings actually make it to the charity. Some points worth repeating: there is no oversight over these programs and no way to tell if the money actually is sent where you intended, and purchases made through these programs are NOT tax-deductible. Good advice from the article: shop from the merchant with the cheapest price and manually donate the difference to charity (THAT amount would be tax-deductible).
