Tax Holidays in Various States

| | Comments (1)

Totally not related to rewards programs but still related to saving money when shopping:

Eleven states have had or will have a Tax Holiday (a period of sales-tax-free shopping on certain qualifying purchases) in the year 2004. Those states and the Holiday dates are below (click the state's name for more info on what applies and what's excluded). Even if you don't live in one of these states, if you live nearby it might be worthwhile to make the trip.

Connecticut: August 15 - 21
Florida: July 24 - August 1; gas tax holiday August 1 - 31
Georgia: July 29 - August 1
Iowa: August 6 - 7
Massachusetts: August 14
Missouri: August 13 - 15
North Carolina: August 6 - 8
South Carolina: August 6 - 8
Texas: August 6 - 8
Vermont: August 7 - 9; October 9 - 11
West Virginia: August 6 - 8

I'm originally from Massachusetts - they're been proposing this for years, but it's never gotten through. They don't call us Taxachusetts for nothing :P
